45th Reunion / Announcement & Invitation
 

Dear Classmates,

 

What a great treat it will be for us to help bring together all of you special friends from the past. It’s been a struggle to find a date that will work for everyone but we have had such positive feedback for the final weekend in May that we’re going to go ahead with it.

 

We give you three solid events for the weekend, plus there are a variety of choices for Saturday. We would love suggestions from all and help from any of you who would like to join us in planning Saturday’s daytime activity. We want so much to really stretch out the time we have together and create a weekend that all will wish went on for a week!

May 30th, 2008 - 7:00pm to 11:00pm. “Welcome get-together” evening at the George Washington Manor, in downtown Roslyn (preferred attire for the men –jackets with or without tie).  Cost: $30.00 per person.
 

May 31st, 2008 -  7:00pm to 11:00pm. “Reunion Buffet Dinner”, at the Maine Maid Inn, 4 Jericho Turnpike, Jericho  (preferred attire for the men –jackets with or without tie).  Cost: $39.00 pp.
 

June 1st, 2008 - 10:00am to 12:00noon. “Sunday Farewell Breakfast” at the Marriott Hotel, Uniondale.  (Casual attire).  Cost: $30.00 per person.
 

Join us for one event or come for all. We will have a great time!

 

Lodging:  The Long Island Marriott Hotel in Uniondale, 800-832-6255 has rooms set aside for us from May 30th through June 2^nd weekend at the rate of $169.00 per room per night (this rate is available until April 30^th). Make your hotel reservations for the nights that you may need, mentioning “Wheatley Reunion.” Also be certain to ask if there is a lower rate available, as rates often change without notice.

 

For our Saturday daytime activity, some possible choices: once again, the highly successful bus tour of neighborhoods stopping at Wheatley, North Side School, Willets Road School; a car trip to Jones Beach; a picnic at the Roslyn Duck Pond….etc. Help us entertain you…..let’s hear from you!
 

IMPORTANT!   Please R.S.V.P. with your check as soon as possible to hold your space for the weekend activities. If anyone is able to send the total amount now, that would be of great help since we have already given sizeable reservation deposits to hold the three venues for our dates. Total amount will be due by April 1st, 2008.
