1960 - Paul (“Bick”) Keister -
Deceased Gene Razzetti (1961) Writes - “Art: Like so many others, I was saddened to hear about
the death of Paul (“Bick”) Keister. In addition to good but vague memories of
Bick from Wheatley (from classes, not parties), I remember seeing him again
in 2011, at a “Celebration of Life” given for my classmate Chuck
Schaffer (1961). The celebration took place near Chuck’s home
in Staunton, VA. Bick and his wife had travelled some distance to be there,
to show a friendship not to be separated by death. Bick and I remembered each
other and were happy to see familiar faces. Although he gave it little
mention, my sense was that Bick enjoyed a very busy and interesting career
and life. Best to all for the
Holiday Season, Gene” Eugene A. Razzetti, Auditor & Management Consultant Phone: (703) 823-5238 Cellular:

Garin Michael Writes - “Hi Art, Marilyn Bardo and I had a lovely
reunion today! The best part was that after 61 years apart, our conversation
felt as though we had just seen each other last week. 1964 - Philip Berwald -
Deceased (in March, 2024) 1967 - Jill Simon Forte - “Another trigger for memories 😁: mention of wood
shop. We still have the tray Bob Forte (1965) made, and the
small shelf unit his brother, John Forte (1960) made. These
have stayed with us all these years (even though I got rid of so much else 🤣🤣🤣).
😁💙☮️” 1969 - Rhoda Garfinkel - “I am so proud of my son, Sam. Here’s a link to the
video of his OKC Hall of Fame induction speech.” Sam Presti’s OKC Hall of Fame Induction Speech 1970 - Greg Fitzpatrick’s
Motorcycle Odyssey Across Europe “Over the course of three
months and nearly 13,000 miles, I rode my motorcycle from Carbondale,
Colorado to Europe and back, completing a lifelong dream of exploring the
continent by motorcycle. After shipping my bike from Calgary to Paris, I set
my sights on the Nordkapp, Europe’s northernmost point—a meaningful echo of a
similar ride I took to the Arctic Ocean in Alaska 20 years ago. Battling the
rain, wind, and chill of Scandinavia, I wound through Norway’s fjords,
endless tunnels, and the dramatic Lofoten Islands before heading south
through Sweden. I also rode south through Germany and into the Austrian,
Italian and Swiss Alps. What emerged as the heart
of the journey was not only the scenery but the warmth of the people I met.
From cabin hosts to repair-shop mechanics and fellow riders from the Arctic
Ocean to the Mediterranean and Atlantic, everyday interactions shaped the trip
for me in unforgettable ways. Language barriers dissolved easily, and the
friendliness of Italians, Spaniards, and Andorrans made a lasting impression
on me. My ride reached its most
thrilling heights in the Alps and Dolomites, where legendary mountain passes
like Stelvio felt like skiing with powder-day exhilaration on two wheels.
Stops at historical sites—Normandy’s beaches, Loire Valley chateaus, Mount
St. Michel—added depth and reflection. Returning home, I felt profound
gratitude for the landscapes I got to explore, the kindness received, and the
joy I found around every bend. Best of all, I didn’t have to touch my first
aid kit once!” Cheers! 1975 - Heidi Mok Sorenson

The Usual Words of Wisdom
Thanks to our fabulous
Webmaster, Keith Aufhauser (Class of 1963), you can regale
yourself with the first 238 or so Wheatley School Alumni Association
Newsletters (and much other Wheatley data and arcana) at The Wheatley School Alumni Association Website Also thanks to Keith is
our search engine, prominently displayed on our home page: type in a word or
phrase and, wow!, you’ll find every place it exists in all previous
Newsletters and other on-site material. I edit all submissions,
even material in quotes, for clarity and concision, without any indication
thereof. I cannot and do not vouch for the accuracy of what people tell me,
as TWSAA does not have a New Yorker style fact-checking
department. We welcome any and all
text and photos relevant to The Wheatley School, 11 Bacon Road, Old Westbury,
NY 11568, and the people who administered, taught, worked, and/or studied
there. Art Engoron, Class of 1967 Closing
